Larry began his career in 1964 as a USMC Photojournalist in Vietnam. He served two consecutive years as a combat photographer and earned "The Combat Photographer of the Year Award" in 1968. Leaving active service with an Honorable Discharge he began studying art and photography on the GI Bill. By 1974 he had earned his FPh. Degree in photography from the North Carolina Professional Photographers Association (the higest achievement awarded by the NCPP of A) and opened his Studio in Winston-Salem. For 25 years he enjoyed a very successful and rewarding studio business while at the same time earning virtually every major photography award offered by West Va./ Va. / N.C. / S.C. / Georgia / and Florida.... State Professional Photographers Associations. Within 10 years he was considered among the top 10% of Professional Photographers in the Southeast.
